Northside is so much more than just a hospital. It's an extensive network of state-of-the-art facilities staffed with skilled, caring professionals who are dedicated to the health and wellness of the communities they serve.
Northside Hospital-Atlanta (in Sandy Springs) opened in 1970. The original facility had 250 beds but has since been expanded to 444 beds.
In 1997, Northside Hospital-Cherokee (in Canton) was created through an agreement between R.T. Jones Regional Hospital and Northside Hospital, Inc. Today, the hospital has 84 beds.
In 2002, Northside Hospital purchased the 62-bed Georgia Baptist Medical Center (in Cumming) and renamed it Northside Hospital-Forsyth. Since then, the facility has grown to 78 beds.
Grady Health System was the vision of Henry W. Grady, editor of the "Atlanta Constitution," who worried about the lack of quality health care for Atlanta's poor. In 1892 his extraordinary dream came true when the doors to Grady Hospital were officially opened. Since that time, Grady Health System has grown considerably from its original three story, 110-bed facility - and now stands as one of the largest public health systems in the United States.
Choosing a healthcare provider for your child is an important decision. There is a lot to consider, especially the fact that children and adults are physically different and so are their healthcare needs. Children should be cared for by pediatric doctors, nurses and specialists who understand these differences.
Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1880, Saint Joseph's facility is Atlanta's oldest hospital. Today, the 410-bed, acute-care facility is recognized as one of the top specialty-referral hospitals in the Southeast.
